Maanantai - vapaapäivä perheiden parissa / Day off with families

Tänään on kansallinen vapaapäivä Espanjassa, joten lähdimme eilen isäntäperheeni ja heidän ystäviensä kanssa pohjoisimpaan Espanjaan. Ajelimme pitkin vuoristojen nähtävyyksiä, ja lopulta päädyimme yöksi retkeilymajaan, missä sai viettää yön ja valmistaa ruokaa. Aamulla söimme aamupalan mökkimme etupihalla. Siitä lähdimme katsomaan läheistä rantakaupunkia. Siellä oli paljon ravintoloita, iso satama ja pari palmupuistoa. Yhdessä baarissa joimme porukalla sidraa ja söimme kuorrutettua kalmaria.

Jatkoimme matkaa takaisin retkeilymajalle, jossa söimme päivällistä. Päivällinen venyikin yllättäen monen tunnin keskuselutuokioksi. Lopuksi illan hämärtäessä lähdimme vielä katsomaan Pohjois-Espanjan suurimman joen syntypaikkaa. Joki on yksi Espanjan tärkeimmistä, ja sikis se on siunattu Neitsyt Marialla. Monet ihmiset tulevat sinne rukoilemaan ja toivomaan onnea. Tämän jälkeen lähdimme kohti Leónia. Espanjan valtatiellä 145km/h, matka kesti n. 3 h.

Monday – day off with families

Today it’s a national holiday in Spain, and that’s why my family and their friends left for the northernmost part of Spain. We were driving through the sights in the mountains and ended up in a hostel where we could prepare our meals and stay overnight. In the morning we had breakfast at the front garden of our cottage. Then we went to visit a nearby town by the sea. There were a lot of restaurants there plus a big port and a couple of parks with palm trees. We had a glass of sidra and some squid in one of the restaurants.Then we went back to the hostel, where we had dinner. The dinner suddenly became a discussion session of many hours. In the end, at the dusk, we went to see the sources of the biggest river in northern Spain. The river is one of the most important in Spain and that’s why it has been dedicated to Virgin Mary. Many people go there to pray. After that we headed for León. On the motorway at 145km/h, it took about 3 h to come home.
